The Mercedes-Benz C-class station wagon with KW V3 coilovers

What a fitting combination – the KW V3 coilover kit is now available for the Mercedes-Benz C class

Sporty, light, and modern – the new C-class and therefore the fifth generation of the best-selling Mercedes-Benz series is available since 2021. Both the sedan model (W206) and the T-model (S206) convince with its dynamic optic which could remind one of the luxurious S-class models.

The design of the fifth generation of the Mercedes C-class is based on the elegant and dynamic look of the S-class.

For years, the reputation of the C-class has been good. The car is considered solid, reliable, and safe. Since the start of construction of the series in 1992, more than 10.5 million vehicles have been sold. It all started with the compact “Baby Benz” – which was the Mercedes-Benz 190 W201 – that represents the debut of the C-class series. However, spatial conditions in the interieur of the car were sparse at that time.

The C-class has been around since the early 1990s. At that time, the so-called Baby Benz – the Mercedes 190 W201 – was popular for its compact appearance. Today, the C-class is way more spacious.

Almost exactly 30 years later, space problems are no longer an issue. The new C-class by Mercedes-Benz has extended its wheelbase by 2.5 cm compared to the previous model. This ensures that also tall passengers enjoy sufficient legroom even in the backseats.

The C-class station wagon is equipped with air dampers at the rear axle ex-works. Therefore, the scope of delivery of the KW V3 is different than for the C-class sedan.
Up to the B-pillar, the C-class sedan is similar to the station wagon version

Both the sedan and the station wagon of the new C-class have rear-axle-drive and are identical up to the B-pillar. The car is available as a diesel-, petrol- or plug-in-hybrid model. When deciding on the electrified version with four cylinders, a range of up to 112 km and a charging time of about 20 minutes can be expected.

The Mercedes-Benz C-class is available in various engine options. It can be purchased with a combustion engine or hybrid.

Addressing the performance and depending on the fuel type, the C-class with combustion engine comes with up to 265 hp. The hybrid variant reaches 129 hp. Due to the mild hybrid technology, the combustion engine of the Mercedes-Benz C-class is supported by an electric engine. This way, the car is boostered (up to 20 hp more) when accelerating. This leads to more efficiency and a more potent motor.

The driving characteristic of the new C-class is already very comfortable. If you like to fine-tune the characteristic a little more, our KW V3 might be the right decision.

According to test drives, the Mercedes already drives very comfortably ex works. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for people who regularly drive long distances. If you still want to be in control of your car’s driving dynamics, you might be interested in the coilover kits we developed for the new Mercedes-Benz C-class. Here, the driver determines the driving characteristics himself with the aid of only a few hand movements.

On both axles, a lowering of 20 to 45 millimeters is possible. With our coilover kit, the car becomes more sporty

Our KW V3 coilover kit with innovative multi-valve technology is now available for all versions of the new Mercedes-Benz C-class. With our coilover kit, a continuous lowering on both axles from 20 to 45 millimeters is possible. With adjustments in lowspeed and highspeed compression and lowspeed rebound, the driving characteristic of the C-class can be individually fine-tuned. This enables a sportier driving characteristic without neglecting comfort. Believe it or not – with our KW V3 this is possible.

The KW V3 scope of delivery for the C-class station wagon (S206)
The KW V3 scope of delivery for the C-class sedan (W206)

Those that like to equip their sedan with a KW V3 coilover kit, needs to adjust the lowering via the coupling rods. The reason for this are the air dampers at the rear axle of the sedan. Therefore, no spring kit is included in the scope of delivery for the station wagon. Within the C-class station wagon, lowering adjustments happen at the KW rear-axle spring plate.
