KW V3 Leveling coilover kit for the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 with all-wheel-drive and rear-axle-drive
Mentioning electric cars, one might think of Tesla. The Californian automotive manufacturer has specialized in the production of electric vehicles. With the Model 3 and Model Y, CEO Elon Musk and his team launched futuristic electric cars that are suitable for daily use while looking all fancy.

Compared: Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y
While the Model Y was launched in Summer 2021, the compact version – the Model 3 – has been around since 2019. The Tesla Model 3 is the most affordable Tesla they offer at the moment. Although the Model Y is based on the same platform as the Model 3, it comes with slightly more space inside. The Tesla Model Y can carry a total of seven people and has a larger tailgate with a more spacious interior. Thanks to fold-down seats in the Model Y, there is even more space for luggage, shopping, and much more.

According to WLTP, the Model 3 has a range of at least 491 kilometers, depending on the version. The Model Y lasts for 455 kilometers, depending on the version. The reason for the lower range is the shape of the Model Y which is typical for SUVs. This shape leads to more wind resistance and therefore a higher consumption.

What makes the KW V3 coilovers special
You don’t plan on demanding attention with a maximum lowered car but still like to benefit from the characteristics of a KW coilover kit? The KW V3 Leveling coilovers offer those exact possibilities. The coilovers made of stainless steel combine our proven V3 technology with the possibility of height-adjustment for your car. The coilovers are perfect for drivers who aren’t looking for lowering. Especially in areas with many speed bumps or steep exits, the driver benefits from the features of the V3 Leveling. You don't have to worry about damaging the underbody and you can move your vehicle at normal speed over road bumps.

With the KW V3 Leveling for the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3, damping is easily adjustable. To specify, the coilovers are compression (12 clicks) and rebound (16 clicks) adjustable in the lowspeed range. The driving characteristic of the electric car becomes more comfortable or stiffer, depending if the lowspeed bypass channel of the damper is opened or closed. This affects whether the Tesla body rolls when steering, accelerating, or braking. Subjectively and objectively, this increases driving safety in every aspect. Regarding the parts certificate, the following height adjustments are possible:
- Tesla Model 3 (AWD): Front axle and rear axle lowering of up to 20 millimeters, lifting to 5 millimeters
- Tesla Model 3 (RWD): Front axle lowering up to 25 millimeters, no lifting possible / On the rear axle lowering of up to 25 millimeters, lifting of up to 5 millimeters
- Tesla Model Y (AWD): On front and rear axle lowering of up to 20 millimeters, lifting of up to 5 millimeters possible
- Tesla Model Y (RWD): On the front axle lowering of up to 25 millimeters, no lifting possible / At the rear axle lowering of up to 25 millimeters and lifting of up to 5 millimeters
In the engineering process of our KW V3 Leveling coilovers, we focused on combining sporty driving comfort with improved handling on bad roads. With the coilovers from the Street Comfort series, the serial ground clearance can be kept. The V3 Leveling, which appears inconspicuous at first glance, offers the same driving dynamics and ride comfort in the Tesla electric cars as our popular KW V3 coilover suspension.

To conclude, the entire damper setup, the coilover springs, and the spring travel of the KW V3 Leveling are made for more rolling comfort and more direct handling.
