Unmatched driving pleasure for the new BMW Z4 Roadster (G29): KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit available now
Lighter, more agile and more direct - the new BMW Z4 (G29) is an honest roadster that focuses on the proverbial joy of driving. The Z4 sDrive20i, Z4 sDrive30i and Z4 M40i get even more driving pleasure with the KW coilover variant 3.
With its dampers that can be adjusted separately in the compression and rebound stages, the coilover suspension, ensures an even more direct road holding. In addition to the lowering, the KW coilover suspension, made of stainless steel, gives the new Roadster sportier handling on request.
Thanks to the ability to tune the adjustable dampers in the compression and rebound separately, a tighter or more sporty-comfortable driving behavior can be adjusted. Basically, the rebound damping ensures that the bodywork is tied to the road, and the rebound forces allow for firmer or more comfortable handling.
If the rebound valves are opened, the ride comfort increases; if they are closed, the handling becomes more direct. The compression damping stage, however, regulates the compression of the damper and also supports the body structure. In addition, the adjustable compression force level can be used to influence body roll and to increase the handling.
Our adjustable dampers offer even more advantages. For example, the variant 3 has pre-configured high-speed valves that can be opened depending on the driving situation and enable harmonic suspension even with a stiff damper setup.
Even with maximum lowering and fast driving over large transverse joints or even bumps, these high-speed valves open in a flash. Even at high speeds, the Roadster does not offset transverse grooves on motorway bridges and remains safe and neutral driving behavior. Shortly for the Z4 sDrive20i, Z4 sDrive30i and Z4 M40i, the adaptive KW DDC plug & play coilover kit and, at the request of the active Trackday community, a KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit will be released.
