KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit for the Toyota GR Yaris

New 3-way damper technology for the KW Clubsport coilover kit: Increased drivability with any road conditions for the Toyota GR Yaris

KW Clubsport suspensions also dispose of damper and adjustment technology from the world of motorsports.

KW automotive develops and manufactures various dampers and complete suspensions for numerous car manufacturer customer racing programs. For instance, all Toyota GR Supra GT4 are homologated with a KW Competition racing suspension. KW Clubsport suspensions also dispose of a damper and adjustment technology from the world of motorsports. Our redesigned valve technology is new to the KW Clubsport 3-way for the GR Yaris. Our new damper design eliminates the external piggypack (compensating reservoir).

Numerous drivers of the Toyota GT86 and the Toyota GR Supra opt for a KW Clubsport coilover when modernizing their suspension in the independent aftermarket. This is the same with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris. After all, 3-way adjustable dampers with top-class performance offer various advantages – such as influencing road behavior or selecting from various tuning options for a track day.

A KW Clubsport 3-way coilover is designed to be more firm in comparison to other KW coilovers, since the track day use with a vehicle that is close to standard is to the fore.

The KW Clubsport suspension has a technical parts certificate and, in comparison to our road focused suspensions from the Street Performance product range, which includes, for example, KW coilover Variant 1, Variant 2, Variant 3 et cetera, are designed to be more firm in order to perform seamlessly during track days, especially when paired with semi-slick tires.

In other KW Clubsport 3-way coilovers, the compression in the low-speed and high-speed ranges are typically adjusted via the valves in the compensating reservoir; however, in the Clubsport suspension for the GR Yaris, the adjustment is integrated directly into the strut and damper.

On the stainless steel struts and rear axle struts of the new KW Clubsport 3-way coilover for the Toyota GR Yaris, the high-speed and low-speed compression forces and the low-speed rebound can be set separately. With other KW Clubsport 3-way coilovers, the compression in the low-speed and high-speed ranges are adjusted via the valves in the compensating reservoir, but with the Toyota GR Yaris, we use a newly developed valve technology. In simple words: it is a two-stage bottom valve in which the purple adjusting ring can be used to tune the low-speed compression valve with 13 clicks. Independently of this, the gold high-speed compression wheel is used to set the high-speed compression valve and you can choose from 14 clicks in the high-speed compression range.

Typical high-speed excitations for the damper are driving over bumps, curbs or transverse joints whereas low-speed influences in the damper arise, for instance, from the driver's maneuvers, such as braking, turning in, and accelerating. In other words, low-speed is suitable for the driver and high-speed for the conditions of the racetrack and the road.

With the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover for the compact Toyota GR Yaris, the compression forces can be manually adjusted independently in the low-speed and high-speed ranges. The rebound can also be altered manually.

Whereas the purple wheel on the rear axle damper is permanently integrated in the taking up of the piston rod, the wheel on the front axle is inserted into the piston rod for adjustment. There are 16 exact click stages for tuning the low-speed rebound. Thanks to the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover’s aluminum unibal top mounts located on the front axle struts, which are included in the scope of supply, it is possible to further adjust the camber and backlash for the handling in corners with little effort when measuring the axle.

The KW Clubsport 3-way coilover enables a maximum lowering of 45 millimeters on the Toyota GR Yaris.

We recommend the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover to all track day enthusiasts who would like to regularly drive a Toyota GR Yaris that is close to standard, i.e., on racetracks, such as Hockenheimring, Lausitzring, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Red Bull Ring, Salzburgring, Sachsenring and so on. Of course, the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover, now available for the Toyota GR Yaris, comes with a technical parts approval. This coilover kit makes it possible to lower the compact all-wheel-drive Toyota GR Yaris from 25 to 45 millimeters on the front and rear axles.
